For the new automated container terminal of logistics service provider Kloosterboer Vlissingen B.V. we supplied and mounted 30 reefer racks and 38 reefer safety tunnels. Reefer safety tunnels offer safe access to the reefer racks, in which stacked containers are supplied with power. For this project, we received a Design and Build assignment from Kloosterboer. In addition to production and assembly, we also provided the structural design.
We asked Mr. Roy de Witte, Project Engineer at Kloosterboer Vlissingen B.V., why he selected Voortman Steel Construction for this project. The main reasons are the extensive experience, professional appearance, good value for money and the fact that Voortman was able to supply a complete integral solution. He adds: “These arguments have certainly been confirmed. Voortman Steel Construction supplied high-quality reefer racks and safety tunnels. The requirements we set have been excellently designed and implemented.”
The reefer racks and safety tunnels for Kloosterboer have been delivered at the end of April. Mr. De Witte: “What I like about the cooperation with Voortman Steel Construction is their drive to create a good solution together. They thought along with us and solved (potential) problems quickly and efficiently. We and our other suppliers experienced the cooperation on site also as very pleasant.” Kloosterboer Container Terminal Vlissingen will be fully operational in a few months and will handle 250,000 TEU on an annual basis.
