Testimonials Park 20|20

Alex Kragtwijk|IBB Kondor

"I think we can say there is a growing partnership between the two companies, because we have accomplished several projects in the same context at Park 20|20. Communication lines are becoming shorter and we have achieved a closer cooperation. The exchange of information in BIM contributes considerably to this process; here we have made important progress as well.”"

Park 20|20 in Hoofddorp (NL) stands for sharing sustainable values, a green and healthy labour ambiance and for circular thinking. Voortman Steel Construction is involved explicitly in Park 20|20: we mounted the steel constructions of the Technical Pavilion and five office blocks. Meanwhile, we have proven to be able to comply with the specific demands for the construction of sustainable buildings.

NOW Building

At present, Voortman assembles the steel construction of NOW Building, in order of IBB Kondor. NOW Building, the first multi-tenant office building at Park 20|20, has been designed for disassembly. At the building’s end-of- life, valuable materials such as wood, steel and glass can be returned in industrial processes. Voortman’s working method contributes to this: the parts of our steel constructions are mounted on site without being welded. As a result, they can be disassembled on site and the steel can be reused.

Cooperation

Last July, building no. 6 was completed: the European headquarters of Plantronics. This building is a result of the close cooperation between a number of parties: development combination Park 20|20 C.V. – consisting of VolkerWessels, Delta Development Group and Reggeborgh –, main contractor IBB Kondor and Voortman Steel Construction. They collaborated before at Park 20|20, which resulted in a quick and efficient building process. In the engineering phase, the various parties made intensive use of BIM (Building Information Modeling).

Growing partnership

We asked Alex Kragtwijk, project coordinator on behalf of IBB Kondor at Park 20|20, for his reaction to the cooperation with Voortman Steel Construction.
