Commissioned by IBB Kondor, Voortman Steel Construction participated in the construction of NOW Building at Park 20 | 20 in Hoofddorp. Voortman also realized the buildings of BSH, FOX holidays, FIFPro and Bluewater and the Technical Pavilion here. NOW Building is the first multitenant building on Park 20I20 and the eyecatcher of the Park. The modern and transparent design with the use of natural materials was developed by William McDonough + Partners.
The building comprises a total of approximately 6,000 m2 of office space, divided over five floors. The property is directly accessible from the underground parking garage and has a logistics facility. The facade is composed of, among other things, terracotta facade panels and green facades. The large atrium offers an abundance of natural daylight on the top two floors.
DESIGN FOR DISASSEMBLY
NOW Building is designed for disassembly. Valuable materials such as wood, steel and glass can be returned into industrial production processes (upcycling) at the end of the building's life cycle. The green roofs and facades absorb carbon from cars and buses. The ambition is to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification.
Voortman Steel Construction supplied and assembled over 420 tonnes of steel and the hollow core slab floors, prefabricated stairs, platforms and wooden V-columns for this sustainable building.
