After previously realizing the steel structure of the European distribution centre of designer Michael Kors, Voortman Steel Construction was again commissioned to build a large distribution centre for vidaXL at Trade Port North in 2017. The client was again Wijnen Bouw B.V.
The building, with a total surface area of 105,000 m2, consists of an office and several warehouses. At the design and construction of this innovative distribution centre, the end user strived for the BREEAM certificate "very good". For Voortman Steel Construction the assignment consisted of the delivery and assembly of the 4,000 tonnes steel structure.
Wijnen Bouw B.V. assigned Voortman Steel Construction once again, also because of the short lead time of the project. Voortman has proven its ability in previous projects, which were realized in smooth cooperation with Wijnen Bouw.
In 2019, the parties realized the extension of 80,000 square meters of the distribution centre. The assembly team of Voortman mounted the 2,600 tonnes steel structure within 18 weeks.
