Commissioned by EZ Park, Voortman Steel Construction helped build the new parking garage for the employees of Van Rooi Meat in Helmond. The four-storey parking garage consists can accommodate eighteen trucks on the ground floor.
This parking garage in Helmond is a 'parking solution' for which a ramp parking garage is placed on top of a truck parking area. It is built according to the modular concept of EZ Park and was created following the design-and-build principle; a close collaboration between architect, constructor, contractor, user and parking specialists. As a result, the design and construction of the project could be realized in a short time. The four-storey building has a gross floor area of 14,170 m2 with parking space for 426 passenger cars and 18 truck combinations.
The grid is 16x11 m. The size of 16 m is made up of 2x the length of a 5 m parking space with a 6 m lane in between, for perpendicular parking. The 11 m grid is based on the width of the diagonal parking spaces on the ground floor for truck combinations, including the space to drive in and out. Characteristic for this parking garage is the large free height from 4.5 m to 6.0 m on the ground floor due to the height of the trucks. This means that the external ramp for the cars rises from ground level over a height of 5,125 m.
