At the end of this year, the Bijsterhuizen business park between Nijmegen and Wijchen will have a large sustainable distribution centre. DC Norma Bijsterhuizen will receive the BREEAM score Very Good upon completion. Our assembly team recently completed its work on the building.
Commissioned by Heembouw, we supplied and mounted the extensive structure (over 1,500 tonnes) and the cladding. With a surface area of more than 35,000 square meters, about seven football fields, the building is very suitable for the storage of bulk goods.
Heembouw Architects paid special attention to a green and sustainable design. The part of the parking spaces that is only in use during peak hours is provided with semi-paving material, so that the parking area also looks attractive when there is little or no parking. The latest techniques in the field of energy consumption and water consumption have been applied in the building. For example, the energy generated by the solar panels on the roof of the building is partly applied directly in the warehouse. The rest is redelivered to the environment.
