Building for our logistics partner Pultrum Rijssen B.V.

Logistics service provider Pultrum Rijssen B.V. has been transporting our steel products for years. This partnership is proceeding to the full satisfaction of both parties. This time the roles were reversed and we were allowed to work for Pultrum: we were commissioned to build a new workshop of 1,200 square meters and to renovate the existing building.

Pultrum relocates the maintenance branch for its trucks to the existing location on the Noordermorssingel in Rijssen, which had to be renovated and expanded for this purpose. As part of the construction team, our Design & Build department was already involved in the project during the design phase. We took care of the design and engineering of the building and coordinated this with the rest of the construction team.

This construction team included the process installer for the workshop equipment and the installation company for the building-related installations. Bloemendaal Bouwmanagement supervised the project on behalf of Pultrum. Bertus Wichers, Head of Workshop at Pultrum: “During the construction meetings communication with the various parties, such as the installers and the supplier of the foundation and work pits, went well. Even at times when we were not present ourselves.”

We attached the new workshop to the existing building. The workshop is equipped with a periodic motor vehicle test lane with work pits. The existing building also underwent a major renovation. We installed three new overhead doors and provided the building with a new facade. Inside we realized new office and storage space. Bertus Wichers: “During the implementation of the project we were guided from step to step. As a result, we were presented with the decisions with regard to the construction when they applied. From the foundation to the colour of the finish. This allowed us to make decisions in phases, instead of all at once, which we experienced as very pleasant.”

The project is now in the final phase. As soon as we have finished the construction, Pultrum's maintenance branch will move to the new location with high-tech workshop. Bertus Wichers: “The scheduling of personnel and equipment and the supply of material went very smoothly from the start. Partly as a result of this, the project went beyond expectations. We are also very satisfied with the quality of the work delivered. The entire project has been set up and handled properly and professionally.”
