Voortman Steel Construction is currently assembling a remarkable colourful building, FloriWorld. This will become the experience center of the Dutch horticultural sector. The building’s colourful cladding represents the Dutch blooming bulb fields. The location is – of course – Aalsmeer, home of the horticultural sector. The construction activities started in April 2019 and will take about one year.
In FloriWorld visitors can experience and discover the influence of flowers and plants on their wellbeing and health. The program offers entertainment and spectacle, but also education and information. FloriWorld expects several hundreds of thousands of visitors. The building also accommodates a restaurant, meeting rooms and offices for among others Bloemenbureau Holland.
Assigned by Boele & Van Eesteren, Voortman Steel Construction delivers an integral project. We supply and mount the steel structure, the precast hollow core slabs, the prefab staircases and the roof and wall cladding. In the preparatory phase, Voortman and Boele & Van Eesteren held numerous consultations. After this thorough preparation Voortman began with the production of the project only two weeks before the start of the construction. The assembly started on the scheduled date and meanwhile the eye-catching cladding has been affixed to the building.
