In 2022, Rotterdam is expected to add another residential tower to its skyline: the ‘Zalmhaven I’. With its height of 215 metres this will be the highest skyscraper in the Benelux. In addition, the project ‘De Zalmhaven’ contains two residential towers of each 70 metres, De Zalmhaven II and III.
De Zalmhaven is located in the Maritime Quarter in Rotterdam’s city centre, along the Meuse river. It includes 485 houses – apartments, penthouses and mansions – divided over the three residential towers. Furthermore, a parking garage, offices, commercial spaces, a rooftop garden and a restaurant are being realised. As Voortman Steel Construction, we are proud to participate in this prestigious project.
We take care of the (pre)engineering and the supply and mounting of the various steel structures for the three buildings of the complex, among which glass covers and awnings. The highlight of the project is, literally, the steel structure of the skyscraper, which is provided from a height of 190 metres. We also supply and mount the composite steel floor decks for the stories of the building.
The project is currently being executed by the Dutch construction company BAM Construction and Engineering. Meanwhile, the Voortman project team has started its engineering activities and the first steel parts have already been delivered on the construction site.
