The new Green Trade Center for plants, flowers and related products in Aalsmeer (NL) opened its doors a month ago. Voortman Steel Construction realised the steel structure of the building, commissioned by Boele & van Eesteren B.V.
In addition to the 580 tons steel structure, Voortman supplied and mounted the roof and wall cladding, the floors, stairs and fencing and the composite canopy. Voortman also executed additional activities, such as the wall openings in the existing buildings. With this working method, we took a lot of work out of our principal’s hands and contributed to an efficient construction process.
For this project, Voortman and Boele & van Eesteren formed a construction team. Project manager Paco Alblas from Boele & van Eesteren: “The advantage of operating in a construction team is that the design and the constructive aspects are being studied already at an early stage, in combination with the possibilities in the field of realisation. Another advantage is that during the design process we can focus on a good price-quality ratio. The input of specialists in this is very important, because they have up-to-date information on the latest techniques.”
