Early next year, the Green Trade Center at the auction site in Aalsmeer (NL) will open its doors. A new trade centre for plants, flowers and related products. Assigned by construction company Boele & van Eesteren, Voortman Steel Construction supplies and assembles the 580 tonnes steel structure, the roof and wall cladding and the floors.
The Green Trade Center will become the flag-ship of Waterdrinker Aalsmeer, one of the largest worldwide exporters of flowers and plants. It consists of a trade building of 18,000 m2, a processing area of 9,000 m2 and a loading and unloading area of 4,500 m2. A new greenhouses complex is built simultaneously with the business premises. For an efficient building process, it is important for all parties involved to coordinate their activities.
The development of the first plans for the new trade centre began a couple of years ago. As members of the building team, Boele & van Eesteren and Voortman Steel Construction were involved in the project from the beginning. Assigned by Waterdrinker and developer KondorWessels Projecten, Boele & van Eesteren started early this year with the realisation of the new building. Voortman commenced the assembly of the steel construction last week.
